Software Systems Engineer II

Description

Purpose:

Under the direction of our software engineering team lead and ITS Director, the Software Services Engineer will create, develop, maintain, and support the platform and application systems that equip the ministry. 

• Software development staff creating, developing, maintaining, and integrating databases.
• Perform data cleansing, staging, and ETL (extract, transform, load) operations within WOL internally developed software, COTS software, and cloud software.
• Software development creating, developing, and maintaining WOL internally developed software, COTS software, and cloud software.
• Engage in personal and professional growth and development as assigned by direct supervisor or by department director.  Note, any self-determined higher education coursework must be taken on personal time.
• Engage in meetings with WOL staff with the goal of solving business problems and making processes more efficient.
• Engage in regular meetings with team members.
• Lead Project meetings when PM on Project
• Skills in PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, MSSQL, MySQL
• Skills in Online Web Forms Management, ie, FormStack, Microsoft Forms
• Knowledge of data models, and how to integrate various systems properly together (ie Salesforce, Microsoft SQL, MySQL, Accounting systems, etc).
• Engage in other aspects of WOL ministry as the Lord leads, and priorities, schedule, and supervisor allows. (Examples: FCG steak night grill, BI Discipleship, Events)

Qualifications

• A clear cut personal testimony of faith in Christ
• Agreement with Word of Life’s vision, mission, Statement of Faith and Standard of Conduct.
• A willingness to learn and grow in the ministry responsibilities mentioned below.
• Has intermediate knowledge of the principles of existing software and data system development.
• May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.
• Typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience.

  • Possess good written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Have the ability to use common office technology efficiently (Outlook, Excel, Word), the ability to track and manage multiple details and priorities.
