What are the responsibilities and job description for the Confectioner/Candy Maker position at World Equestrian Center Ocala?
World Equestrian Center - Ocala is currently seeking an experienced Candy Maker to create candies and confectionaries for this unique Sweet Shop location. This individual will be responsible for management of the team, creative concepts, and preparation.
Successful applicants should be hardworking, reliable, and have good communication and organizational skills.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Candy preparation; weighing, measuring, and weighing ingredients, and cooking.
- Packaging, stocking, quality control of product.
- Training of team
- Basic arithmetic and writing/reading skills are necessary.
- Responsible for creating a safe and health conscious environment to ensure all equipment and utensils are properly cleaned and used.
- Provide excellent customer service
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods, climb, pull, and lift heavy objects
Physical Requirements:
The physical requirements necessary for an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the position are outlined below. Reasonable accommodations can be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the described essential functions of the position.
- Associate may have to stand walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Associate is often required to sit and use his or her hands and fingers, to handle or feel. Must have good hand-eye coordination.
- Associate may have to lift up to 50 pounds.
Required Experience:
- Completion of high school/vocational or technical training or recognized apprenticeship
- Minimum of three to five experience with high volume Confectionary/Candy Making
- Additional certification may be required
- Good communication skills
- Knowledge of mathematics
