Key Responsibilities:
Lead global executions of the brand strategy which will result in strategic tools, practical examples, playbooks and guides on communicating, understanding and applying the refreshed brand, ensuring our brand narrative is amplified globally for greater impact with messaging “as common as possible, different where proven necessary.” This will be inclusive of developing global strategies as a result of our annual brand health research. Lead the transformation of World Vision’s global brand, compelling donors to take action and become part of our story…and make World Vision a relevant part of their own story.
Lead with visionary passion the development and global execution of World Vision’s global brand strategy and strategic application that strengthens World Vision’s brand, and innovative fundraising storytelling that motivates donors to give, builds trust and differentiates World Vision.
Guided by effectiveness measures and donor-based insights, partner with marketing, content and communications leaders across the globe to build brand and storytelling capabilities, resulting in best in class go-to-market campaigns and donor experiences. Serve as a senior influential servant leader ensuring World Vision achieves Hope, Joy and Justice for ALL children.
Make tools and techniques available to WV staff. Refine and advance KPIs and analytics to measure progress for World Vision and ‘competition’.
In the role as the successful global brand leader, you will:
  • Apply a strategic brand approach in developing a forward-looking vision for the World Vision global brand that is hyper-relevant for emerging audiences, reflects our Christian calling and mission, inspires staff, motivates donors to give, builds consideration and trust, and differentiates us. Develop strategic thinking, applications and executions that can be scaled globally. Ultimate accountability to deliver externally and internally, including private donors, philanthropy, corporate, church, all WV offices and employees (esp. Support Offices) and agency partners.
  • Lead global executions of the brand strategy which will result in strategic tools, practical examples, playbooks and guides on communicating, understanding and applying the refreshed brand, ensuring our brand narrative is amplified globally for greater impact with messaging “as common as possible, different where proven necessary.” This will be inclusive of developing global strategies as a result of our annual brand health research.
  • As a key element of Strategic Imperative 5.0, lead the application of brand strategy across the ‘revitalise Child Sponsorship’ initiative, Fragile Contexts (Childhood Rescue) development, and other key assets. This will require extensive collaboration with senior marketing leaders across the Partnership.
  • Lead the creative strategy that drive our global campaigns and other externally-focused brand, campaigns and digital work by pairing donor insights with a compelling creative approach that will increase differentiation and relevance within the market; leading to delivery of revenue targets for achieving the global strategy.
  • Partner with marketing leaders across the globe to build brand capabilities, resulting in best in class go-to-market campaigns, value propositions and donor experiences. This will be achieved by gathering local-level insights to integrate into global strategies, campaigns, executions and brand expressions so that local challenges and needs can be elevated and integrated. This also includes overseeing platforms and methods for sharing and scaling best practices (Fundraising Newsletters, Fundraising Centre global digital platform, Playbooks and Tool Kits)
All of the above will be done in close partnership with both Global Comms and Child Sponsorship / Childhood Rescue teams in ensuring effective operating models used aligned to the global content strategy and drive synergy in ensuring assets are leveraged across the partnership.
With experience in a senior-level leadership role (Vice President, or similar) you will have experience in leading multiple departments / functions / teams of people. You will also have a minimum of ten years’ experience in guiding and negotiating with senior organisational leaders (at CEO level), and a minimum ten years’ experience in leading the development and delivery of successful marketing strategies that drove revenue growth and customer growth. You will also have experience of working globally in a complex, multi-cultural environment.
You will also possess strong experience in brand strategy In developing and executing in-depth brand strategies across organisations and experience in creative strategy and managing creative teams (both internal and external agencies) to deliver exceptional brand executions.
