ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Head of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is the leader, primary subject matter expert, and architect of the firm's diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy and programming. Reporting to the Global Chief People Officer, this position oversees the identification, development, implementation, and evaluation of such initiatives to ensure we foster an inclusive workplace, drive efforts to hire staff representative of but not limited to diverse cultures, ethnicities, skill sets, backgrounds, gender and age, and advance our DEI journey internally. While the primary focus of this role will be the US population, this role will consult with and collaborate with our international teams to evaluate and identify DEI needs in market. You will also contribute to thought leadership related to the subjects of diversity, equity, and inclusion. As a trusted advisor to the senior leadership team, we expect you to operate with the highest professionalism, partnership, and enthusiasm for our agency and industry.
Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion:
- Oversee and deploy GCI Health’s DEI strategy, programming, and resources.
- Advance the organization’s DEI maturity by further developing our three pillars with the goal of DEI being the standard throughout our organization:
- Cultural Competency & Understanding: Establish our voice through continuous engagement, learning and development, and meaningful conversations.
- Inclusive Champions: Set the DEI culture standard by continuing to demonstrate inclusive behaviors at work, and
- Diverse Perspectives: Evolve our recruitment, retention, career development practices, and external relationships with a strategic focus on representation.
- Research, develop, recommend, and execute creative strategies to enhance and deliver on the organization’s DEI pillars.
- Review current practices and policies, assessing and analyzing the extent to which they support or detract from the company’s DEI goals.
- Work in partnership with the Talent Acquisition team to provide guidance and strategic insight implement recruiting and hiring strategies to attract employees from diverse backgrounds.
- Work in partnership with the People team, global DEI leaders within BCW sand WPP to collect key data in accordance with inclusion and diversity standards and goals. Partner to coordinate strategies and activities
- Provide guidance, direction, and strategic insight to the leadership team in the development of and/or acquisition of training and development to aid inclusion and diversity initiatives.
- Maintain knowledge of diversity-related issues, legislation, and best practices.
- Lead professional development programs and provide training to colleagues as applicable.
Agency Responsibilities:
- Partner with and provide strategic guidance to the Global CEO, US President, Director of Operations and Head of Culture to continue to build on our agency’s culture to ensure it is rooted in DEI.
- In conjunction with senior leadership and marketing lead, generate thought leadership that promotes GCI Health in the marketplace and our commitment to DEI.
- Be an ambassador for GCI and its DEI commitments and progress externally.
Leadership & Team Management:
- Share and inspire vision, creativity and innovation that engages top performers and attracts new talent interested in DEI.
- Provide strategic leadership, counsel, and mentorship to employees and DEI team members.
- Act as the Executive Sponsor for the DEI and Healthcare Disparities Committees and ERGs.
Candidate Qualifications and Experience:
- Ideal candidate will have 10 years’ experience leading diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy within a corporate environment or similarly related experience.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate, partner, and influence with across all levels, functions, and cultures.
- An experienced presenter who instills inspiration and action
- A strategic thought leader with a track record of executing against goals.
