What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Inspector position at WSP USA?
This Opportunity
WSP is currently initiating a search for a a Construction Inspector to help oversee a traffic signal upgrade project in southern, central New Hampshire.
The inspector will monitor and prepare daily reports on trenching, conduit and fiber installation infrastructure, along with installation of camera equipment and traffic controllers for up to 23 intersections. The inspector will report to the WSP Construction Engineer. The successful candidate will possess construction inspection and documentation experience.
Your Impact
- Monitor and inspect construction activities.
- Complete daily inspector reports, measure and calculate unit price quantities.
- Monitor maintenance of traffic.
- Take and compile photographs, for tracking of daily progress.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
- Have a valid driver's license.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate of Science degree in Engineering or Environmental Technology or Construction Management, or related field.
- 1 to 2 years of construction experience
- Hands-on familiarity with IPD, Site Manager, Field Manager, APPIA, Doc Express software, or similar platforms for construction management.
- Average proficiency with MS WORD Suite.
- Any combination of college education, professional licenses, certifications and experience will be considered.
