Join our Payroll Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges. WSP is currently initiating a search for a Payroll Specialist. This position can be based in any WSP USA office or work remotely.
Under minimum supervision, the Payroll Specialist performs duties associated with the processing, generation and distribution of the bi-weekly payroll for 9,500 employees. Prepares, maintains and transmits files and reports to various agencies and vendors.
Your Impact
- Administers system interfaces for all pay groups.
- Process new hires, terminations, status changes in the ADP ProBusiness and ADP WorkForce Now system.
- Research, calculate and process late and revised timesheets.
- Research and process all Relocation Expense Reports
- Setup Garnishment, PAC and United Way deductions.
- Calculate and distribute payroll wires, taxes and 401k information
- Process W4 and direct deposit forms
- Reconcile paychecks and distribute reports from third party deductions
- Process termination checks
- Work with HR to resolve issues and problems
- Monitor the payroll inbox and responds to requests for information for North America.
- Create and maintain employee personnel files for active and terminated employees including creating folders, coding paperwork, reviewing paperwork and documentation for accuracy.
- Password resets for ADP ProBusiness WorkCenter.
- Perform employment, wage and mortgage verifications and garnishments in accordance with company policy.
- Reconcile the monthly Salaries to Be Distributed
- Other duties as assigned
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a payroll operation
- Knowledge of administrative procedures in a payroll function
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of federal and state wage and hour laws required
- Proficient computer knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel, Outlook and Word
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's Degree
- Experience with Canadian payroll and expatriate payroll
