Key Responsibilities: Remote within the US - Audit Data Analytics Intern Spring 2024 World Vision Internships provide a three-month opportunity for exceptional students and recent graduates ready to explore a career in the international relief and development sector. BEFORE APPLYING, make sure you meet the following requirements: Able to commit to a minimum of 30 hours per week for the entire internship period: January 29 to April 26, 2024. Eligible to work in the United States. Must have a valid US Social Security Number. Be physically located in one of the following states where WVI is registered as an employer: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia (Washington D.C.), Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Washington. Current student or recent graduate from a graduate programme (within 2 years). Adhere to World Vision International’s Christian Statement of Faith. DETAILS Stipend: All US-based interns are paid a monthly stipend of $650 Hours: Full-time and part-time opportunities are available (30-40 hours/week) Internship Location: Remote within the US (see eligible states above). Appropriate Fields of Study/Majors: Computer Science/IT/ Data Science/Business (Information Technology/Information Systems) Degrees, or related field. INTERNSHIP DESCRIPTION The Global Internal Audit Function serves as an independent and objective assurance and consulting function designed to add value to and improve the organization's operations. We provide assurance that risk management, control, and governance systems are effective and efficient. The IT Audit team plays a crucial role within Global Internal Audit primarily focusing on information technology systems and infrastructure. The Opportunity As an Audit Data Analytics Intern, you will have the opportunity to: Develop practical data analytics experience, particularly in Internal Audit. Support World Vision to deliver its objectives through well-controlled and streamlined processes. Engage with the Global Center and Regional Internal Audit Teams and other World Vision business units' teams based on audit assignments. The intern’s responsibilities will include: Data Extraction, Transformation, and Loading (ETL): Extract relevant data from various sources within World Vision, transform this data into a usable format for analysis, and load the data into analytics tools or platforms. Automated Control Testing: Automate the testing of internal controls by scripting common test procedures, which can be especially useful for high-volume transaction areas. Anomaly Detection: Use statistical models and other techniques to identify unusual patterns or outliers that might indicate fraud, errors, or control weaknesses. Data Visualization and Reporting: Utilize data visualization tools to represent audit findings, insights, and patterns in a clear and interactive manner. Data Analysis for Executive Reporting: Working closely with a Data Business Analyst to perform analysis for executive reporting Essential qualities for this role: You are knowledgeable in Database Languages. You have experience with Programming/Coding/Scripting. You have experience interacting, communicating, and collaborating with others to effectively achieve a desired outcome.
