Fine Art Salesperson:

The Wyatt Gallery at Hillside in Sedona, AZ is looking for a highly motivated sales person who is honest, high energy, and has an outgoing personality. This position has opportunity for growth and career development as the gallery salesperson works directly with ownership to build the gallery into a local and nationally recognized fine art brand.

The successful candidate must enjoy talking to a wide variety of people who come from different backgrounds, cultures, faiths, and beliefs. The fine art salesperson must meet with the artists (when available whether on phone, zoom, or in person) that are featured in the gallery, become familiar with their style/work/outlook, and be able to share this knowledge with art gallery visitors on a daily basis.

The fine art salesperson must be okay with wearing multiple hats that include client-side sales, customer service, maintaining communication with featured gallery artists, and promoting the gallery through various marketing initiatives proposed by the salesperson to the owner. The ideal candidate is flexible with the gallery scheduled hours, open to working on some holidays, and driven toward success.

The gallery pays a base pay of $25/hour plus commission on pieces sold and sales goal bonuses defined by the owner. An entrepreneurial mindset and collaborative attitude is highly sought after and embraced. Career advancement and pay increases are based on performance.

Qualifications:

  • Outgoing, kind, honest, & positive personality
  • Flexibility to work as needed to achieve targets
  • Ability to hold a hold a broad view of the entire gallery operation while maintaining an attention to details
  • Highly motivated to make sales, serve artists, and build a growing art business
  • Capacity to work effectively in a fast-paced and exciting environment
  • Be physically fit to move artwork in and out of viewing rooms
  • Basic computer skills which include knowing how to use Safari or Chrome browser, how to upload a picture from the computer to a website (training provided), and how to read emails
  • Previous gallery experience or retail sales experience is a plus, not a requirement

Responsibilities:

  • Creating a welcoming atmosphere; greeting and interacting with walk-in guests
  • Sales of artwork, coordinating shipping of artwork, coordinating commissions
  • Developing and nurturing client relationships
  • Opening and closing the gallery, hanging and lighting artwork, general housekeeping, ordering supplies
  • Maintain understanding and knowledge of represented artists and their work
  • Maintaining inventory database, maintaining contact with artists when new works are needed
  • Helping ownership in growing the gallery’s local and national sales presence through creative ideas, proposals, and leadership

Responsibilities:

The right individual for this position will be business oriented with an entrepreneurial spirit AND sales driven with a love for fine jewelry, minerals, and art.

Starting Pay: $25/hr

8-hour shift
