What are the responsibilities and job description for the Research Analyst position at WZZM?
WZZM 13 On Your Side is looking for a Research Analyst who is passionate about connecting consumer & industry trends with our best-in-class Linear TV and digital products to exceed our customers' advertising goals. The ideal candidate is a creative and curious person who seeks to drive new revenue opportunities by educating our internal team and external partners. This person will also provide research and insights about our audiences to News staffers, our Marketing team and General Manager as needed.
This role is based in Grand Rapids at WZZM and also serves our TEGNA sister station WOI in Des Moines, IA. The position is generally three days in-office and two days remote.
Responsibilities:
- Support Account Executives by researching consumer behavior and industry trends that translate into compelling insights for our clients
- Assist AEs with prospecting by category, season and vertical
- Recommend data-driven initiatives that further station goals and align with core values
- Identify emerging categories and trends, arming our sales team with market intel and strong VBRs
- Maintain Wide Orbit Media Sales programming and estimates
- Develop insights-based sales material that creates new revenue streams
- Work closely with Account Managers on client proposals
- Prepare and present post campaign reporting and lead regular internal insights discussions
- Other duties and responsibilities as may be required by our Content/Marketing teams to achieve KPIs across various departments
Requirements:
- Proficiency in research platforms including ComScore, Media Monitors, AdMall or similar research tools
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to transcribe data with clarity and brevity
- Problem solver with analytical skills who has a passion for taking on new challenges
- Confident collaborator who works with various departments and personalities to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products
- Outstanding interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills
- Occasional (1-2x per year) travel may be requested
