What are the responsibilities and job description for the Metrology Technician & Technical Trainer Flex position at X-ES?
Extreme Engineering Solutions (X-ES) is looking for a detail-oriented Metrology Technician to ensure our products meet all quality standards. This team member will assist with monitoring the calibrated equipment system, including maintaining the equipment database and records, coordinating both on-site and off-site calibrations, and performing on-site equipment verifications. When not working on metrology tasks the right candidate will use a combination of their technical and communication skills to prepare new employees to be successful at X-ES. We offer first-shift positions with flexible scheduling, paid training and good benefits.
Metrology Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains the calibration database and records.
- Supports on-site and off-site equipment calibrations.
- Performs on-site equipment verifications.
- Supports equipment purchases, RMAs, and repairs.
- Maintains department reports.
- Supports the equipment needs of multiple cross functional teams.
Training Duties and Responsibilities
- Conducts technical training sessions in the manufacturing training lab for new employees.
- Assess trainees’ skills and understanding throughout the training process.
- Prepares training materials before each training session.
- Supports creating and revising instructional materials, such as course outlines, background material, instructional materials, and training aids.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited high school (or valid General Educational Development certificate).
- Computer proficiency and a high level of organization with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently and independently.
- Ability to present to small and large groups.
- Ability to communicate effectively in order to mentor trainees and use problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work onsite from our facility in Verona, WI.
Desired Qualifications
- Calibration Technician Certification, Associate's degree Engineering or Electronics, or equivalent related work experience preferred.
- General understanding of calibration technology.
