Job Summary
The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting with the monthly accounting close and reporting
cycle, completing account reconciliations, and conducting regular and ad-hoc analysis. The Senior Staff Accountant reports to the CFO and works closely with the Logistics,
Operations, and Sales teams.
Responsibilities:
- Perform accounting tasks within the assignment area to include research and resolution of potential errors or discrepancies.
- Maintain and review general ledger chart of accounts.
- Create, monitor, and post accruals and journal entries for closing duties to ensure all deadlines and schedules are met.
- Provide bank and general ledger account reconciliations.
- Post monthly, quarterly and yearly accruals.
- Supervise and Mentor Accounts Payable functions.
- Supervise and Mentor Accounts Receivable collections.
- Analyze variances and identify trends and opportunities to lower or control costs.
- Lead Month End Close process and identify ways to decrease Month End Close time.
- Reconcile Inventory and Fixed Asset Accounts.
- Assist in coordination of annual budget and periodic forecasting.
- Monitor and analyze key performance metrics of the company to further develop strategies to improve performance.
- Assist with annual external audit
- Design, document, and implement workflow, procedures, checklists, and policies for assigned tasks.
- Support compensation and commission processes
- Partner with Operations, Sales, and Corporate leadership on various requests/tasks
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred
- 3 year experience as a Staff Accountant or relevant experience in Accounting
- Experience with integrated ERP systems; QuickBooks and NetSuite experience preferred
- Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize workload, multi-task and confidently perform in a fast-paced environment
- Strong time-management skills to include execution to meet established deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex information, draw logical conclusions, and make sound recommendations
- Ability to read and comprehend contractual language
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Salary : $70,000 - $90,000
