Location: Salem, OR - onsite for our client, Pioneer Trust Bank - the position works in-office with the option for occasional remote work.

Position Status: Full-time

 How this role transforms workplaces:

  • Acts as point of contact for Human Resources and serves as the liaison between the Pioneer Trust Bank and Xenium.
  • Acts as a resource for employees in all different aspects of HR.
  • May support Xenium payroll provider and internal Pioneer Trust Bank Accounting team in delivering accurate and on time payroll which includes troubleshooting, timekeeping, maintenance, and auditing.
  • In conjunction with the Strategic HR Business Partner, provides Human Resource guidance and compliance to Pioneer Trust Bank.
  • Responds to HR questions from managers and employees as well as providing disciplinary and coaching support. Utilizes Xenium team for assistance/guidance with technical and strategic HR issues, including employee complaints and investigations.
  • Will provide and support with benefit and 401k administration.
  • Benefits: annual renewal process with outside vendor/broker in partnership with Xenium, point of contact for Health, Dental, Life, FSA, Cobra, Leave
  • 401k administration: distributions, semi-monthly contributions, quarterly updates with broker, annual notices, annual data compliance testing, annual employee meeting
  • Works with managers to ensure that all the proper documentation is in place for all aspects of HR.
  • Participates in employee counseling and termination meetings as appropriate. Coordinates all aspects of terminations in conjunction with the Xenium team.
  • Works with the Xenium team in implementing HR project deliverables to include: Employee Handbook updates, Job Descriptions, Wage Surveys, HR Audits, Employee Satisfaction Surveys, Performance Management Programs, Trainings and other client company objectives.
  • Manages full cycle recruiting including posting all jobs via the ATS, screening applicants, pre-employment screening, and making offers to applicants.
  • Manages onboarding for all new hires including staff introductions, training schedule coordination for week one with manager and 30 day onboarding check in.
  • Coordinates and facilitates annual all employee benefits meetings for open enrollment with representatives from insurance companies.
  • Assists with tracking on-time performance reviews. Reviews incoming performance reviews for completeness and obtains appropriate signatures. 
  • Works with the Xenium team to produce the appropriate leave paperwork and tracks all leaves for employees.
  • Administers the workers’ compensation process including completing the annual audit.
  • Maintains the personnel filing system to include applicants, active and inactive employees.
  • Responds to all unemployment claims and participates in hearings when needed.
  • Drives and completes miscellaneous HR projects as assigned.

Required experience and skills:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university, or five to eight years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service and work independently.
  • Possess excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Possess strong interpersonal, organizational, attention to detail, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Display empathy while maintaining firm boundaries.
  • Ability to work independently while developing and fostering critical interdepartmental relationships.

Preferred skills and certifications:

  • SHRM or PHR certification

Xenium HR is committed to providing a competitive compensation package. The starting salary for this role ranges from $38.00-42.00/hour based on skills/knowledge, years of experience, and ensuring pay equity within the organization. The hiring team will share more details regarding compensation based on your experience and location during the interview process.
