Senior Manager, Supplier Sales
Xometry is the source for on-demand manufacturing, offering massive capacity, instant online quotes, fast lead times, and affordable pricing. Additionally, our Thomasnet.com platform serves 1.4M buyers, engineers, and MROs each month as they source for new suppliers from the 550,000 North American manufacturing companies available to help build and reshore their supply chains. We help suppliers connect with these active buyers through targeted programs and digital marketing services. All areas of the business have a diverse customer base, ranging from startups to Fortune 100 companies and can make anything from a single prototype to millions of parts.
The Sales Manager is responsible for managing a team of highly productive sales representatives across the country that can meet and exceed revenue expectations, as well as the needs of our existing and potential supplier customers looking to grow their businesses with Thomas products and services. This individual will also be responsible for building a team of Business Development Representatives (BDRs) to establish and grow a “land and expand” approach to new customer acquisition leveraging our entry level programs and digital marketing services.
This position requires a strong, principled, centered leader. This position staffs, directs and develops the sales and BDR team and provides leadership towards the achievement of maximum bookings attainment and growth in line with company goals along with establishing and executing plans to retain and expand revenues across the Thomas product lines.
Responsibilities:
· Ensure Account Managers meet or exceed revenue goals and metrics
· Develop plan for increased new logo acquisition and bookings growth and for existing AMs and new BDR team
· Drive change management to migrate existing AMs to leverage new playbook focused on “land and expand” approach to drive new logo acquisition and booking growth
· Hire staff for BDR team in Lexington, KY, train, and optimize performance to drive new logo acquisition and power the AMs with upsell opportunities
· Prepare action plans with AMs to ensure upsell of new accounts, revenue retention, and new revenue opportunities are maximized
· Assist AMs in preparation of quotes and proposals
· Responsible for the performance development of the AM and BDR team
· Conduct daily stand-up team meetings and weekly one-on-one meetings with AMs to provide needed support, on-going coaching, and address any performance concerns compared to performance metrics and expectations
· Drive internal coordination of resources to deliver value and professionally meet customer needs when issues escalate
· Work jointly with stake holders to design and implement go-to-market strategies and approaches for the AM and BDR customer base
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams on strategy and implementation of new selling approaches to evolve and improve sales productivity and effectiveness
· Provide timely feedback to senior management regarding performance
· Recruit, test, and hire strategic sales reps and BDRs based on agreed upon criteria
· Champion of company initiatives, strategies, and platforms
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Sales, Finance, Marketing, or related field or equivalent education and/or experience
· 5 years of sales management experience and leadership experience within a high growth environment
· Experience in Industrial Sales, a plus
· Proven leadership and ability to drive sales teams to perform
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Ability to communicate effectively across different levels of professionals
· Ability to work successfully in a team environment
· Ability to successfully resolve customer conflicts
