Business Sales Manager
Job Summary
A sales role that requires experience in recognizing business service opportunities and turning leads into long-lasting, profitable partnerships. The Sales Manager will communicate directly with existing business customers and prospects, understand their business needs, and recommend services that maximize value. The service portfolio includes Fiber Internet, Wireless, Hosted PBX, Network Security, Transport, Surveillance/Security, and IT services for small to medium sized businesses. The Sales Manager will also manage, develop, and coach a team including Business Account Executives and Sales Support – while being passionate about client relationships and enhancing the sales process/experience.
Essential Job Functions
- Develop Sales and Prospecting strategies
- Establish a business plan to maintain and expand the business customer base
- Establish a strategic business plan to achieve sales targets
- Develop sales and prospecting strategies and consistently meet/exceed quota.
- Make cold calls and contact prospects to identify new business opportunities and sales leads.
- Network within the business community (Chambers of Commerce, EDC …) to identify prospects.
- Build strong client relationships, provide support and cross-sell existing customers.
- Follow up with prospects throughout the sales cycle to ensure needs are being met.
- Present and demonstrate the value of services to prospective customers.
- Stay current on service offerings, competition and industry trends to identify opportunities.
- Maintain a CRM sales funnel/database of contact information and lead statuses.
- Prepare and present monthly KPI reports.
- Build long-lasting, mutually beneficial relationships with customers.
- Drive continuous improvement of the sales, implementation, and support process.
- Handle business customer complaints and negotiations.

- IT Services Knowledge – knowledgeable of company service offerings and industry trends

- Ability to multi-task and set priorities
- Ability to understand client needs and handle the negotiation process
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Computer skills, MS Office and CRM software.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
- MBA or equivalent experience preferred
- 10 plus years of Sales experience in a service industry
- Proven and demonstrated effectiveness in selling
