What are the responsibilities and job description for the Community and Member Engagement Coordinator position at YMCA of Abilene?
POSITION SUMMARY: This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Delivers excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants. Responds to member and guest needs, promotes memberships and programs, and community engagement. The incumbent is responsible for customer service, community and member engagement and relations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Provides excellent service to members, guests, and program participants in the Y and on the phone, contributing to member retention.
2. Conduct interviews and/or tours responsive to the needs of prospective members, promotes memberships.
3. Builds relationships with members; helps members connect with one another and the YMCA.
4. Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
5. Applies all YMCA policies dealing with member services.
6. Acts as the lead customer service staff member; community engagement, promotes Y programs to members.
7. Assist Health & Wellness staff with special events, programs, and Youth Fitness Orientations. Work scheduled hours in program area (H&W)
8. Implementation of Superior Health programs and new Mobile App (Welld)
9. Capture targets such as teens, seniors, corporation, and families with Member acquisition and retention –, 30-60-90 days after initiation to determine/addresses needs/concerns)
10. Liaison for internal/external member needs/concerns
11. Coordinate branch specific events and incentives to build retention and increase member experience
12. Create awareness in the community
13. Assists with grants and annual campaign
14. Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention and emergencies.
15. Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR/AED, and First Aid. Paid by the YMCA
2. Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills.
3. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic
segments of the community
4. Previous customer service, sales or related experience.
5. Basic knowledge of computers.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour
