What are the responsibilities and job description for the Day Camp Jr. Counselor position at YMCA of Delaware?
Essential Responsibilities:
- Guard campers safety and welfare at all times.

Count campers before and after each different activity.
- Follow pre-planned schedule of activities ensuring campers are on time
- Properly maintain equipment and supplies
- Report accidents to Camp Health Supervisor and complete forms
- Must attend and staff the camp carnival; assist as needed with planning and organizing family nights and camp carnival
- Responsible for visually observing and hearing campers during outdoor activities on and off site.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be at least 16 years of age and successful completion of the Leaders In Training (LIT) program either the previous Summer or current Summer is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to participate in all group activities.
- Must be able to set up and break down all program supplies and equipment.
- Must be able to move readily through camp site program areas such as woods and fields.
Preferred Qualification:
- Multi-Lingual
