POSITION SUMMARY:
To support the ongoing development of employees of the Y of Frederick County, this position will serve as point of contact for organizational training needs and DEIB initiatives within the Association. The Staff Trainer will be familiar with the development and/or delivery of curriculum working across the organization to implement change. This position will become familiar with the needs of all Association employees to insure we are demonstrating our commitment to our four core values to each other and our community: caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
He/she must have the ability to demonstrate knowledge of full cycle staff training including identification of needs, creation of curriculum, delivery of content and evaluation of results. Collaborating with program and department leadership on a regular basis to discuss specific needs and identify trends will be critical. He/she must also have excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal and organizational skills; advanced computer skills; exceptional problem solving and resourceful thinking with an ability to exhibit creative outreach within our community. He/she must also be able to deliver quality content using various sources, with a focus on diversity, inclusion, equity and belonging. As a member of the Y team, he/she will lead by the tenants of the organization, including demonstrating genuine concern, welcoming attitude, hopefulness and a nurturing spirit.
The Staff Trainer understands ethical behavior and business practices, and ensures that their own behavior and the behavior of others is consistent with these standards and aligns with the values of the organization. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Organize and execute annual training needs assessments for the Y of Frederick County.
- Analyze assessment results to develop new programs or modify/improve existing programs.
- Proactively create and maintain a master training calendar of offerings annually.
- Design, develop, facilitate and implement all phases of our DEIB strategy in partnership with the VP of Administration/HR utilizing data as a baseline for decision-making.
- Collaborate with Department leadership staff to identify and draft detailed DEIB training plans for each function.
- Prepare all training materials, providing leadership and creativity in the development process.
- Identify and implement the most effective and efficient training methodology based on the role, tools and technology as well as the needs of the YMCA.
- Monitor and apply HR Training Best Practices.
- Lead implementation of development plans for all staff.
- Utilize Y-USA resources related to DEIB initiatives and training methodology.
- Maintains training documents and records.
- Foster a climate of innovation to develop programs which support the Y strategic plans.
- Serves as the Human Resources representative on various work groups.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment laws, regulations and company policies.
- Develops meaningful relationships with community partners.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field
- A minimum of 2 years demonstrated experience in the field of DEIB and/or training
- Experience training and facilitating groups of adult learners
- Outstanding ability and a strong commitment to working directly with people from diverse backgrounds and viewpoints
- Proven ability in providing educational strategy and leadership within an organization
- Outstanding knowledge of MS Office and various training technologies
- Excellent communication and decision-making skills
Salary : $45,000
