Responsibilities
The Caylor-Nickel Foundation Family YMCA seeks an enthusiastic and attentive part-time LiveStrong Instructor to join our team, who will support and guide cancer patients and survivors in the YMCA’s LiveStrong Program.
- Build: Foster relationships with cancer survivors to encourage their wellness journey.
- Support: Encourage cancer patients and survivors in their recovery.
- Create: Establish an atmosphere of support and motivation within the group and encourage lasting relationships between participants.
Requirements
Candidates must be committed to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne as well as:
- Must be 18 years or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have strong communication and relationship-building skills, the ability to build community within a group, and empathy for participants.
- Must be flexible to work with a wide variety of people and detail-oriented.
- Knowledge of basic health, nutrition, and fitness is encouraged.
- Ability to relate to, welcome, and communicate with diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.
* Will need to complete pre-requisite training before facilitating the first class, including the YMCA’s LiveStrong Program Certification. All training costs and hours will be compensated.
Salary: Part-time $13.50-$13.75 hourly
