What are the responsibilities and job description for the Slide Attendant position at YMCA of Hagerstown?
GENERAL FUNCTION:
Operation of water slides to meet the demands of the public. Maintains safe conditions on the slides and surrounding areas. Creates a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:
· Minimum age of 15.
· Certifications: CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid and Blood Borne Pathogens.
· Must be available on days, evenings, and weekends.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Manages the flow of patrons on the water slides.
· Ensures the safety of patrons by enforcing the rules of the facility.
· Sanitizes pool deck and facility as assigned by YMCA pool management.
· Cleans areas of facility and pool deck as instructed by YMCA pool management.
· Completes all assigned closing duties for the pool.
· Attends all staff meetings, in-service training, and complete Redwood’s training.
· All other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
· Hear noises and distress signals in the aquatic environment, including in the water and anywhere around the aquatic area. Remain alert with no lapses of consciousness.
· Regularly lift 25 pounds; occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
· Work in an outdoor environment with varying temperatures and varying levels of humidity.
· See and observe all sections of and assigned zone or area of responsibility.
