Aquatic coordinator

Job Description

The Grant County Family YMCA's Aquatics Coordinator will assist with the operation and administration of all aquatic programs at the facility and within the community.

Under the direction of the aquatics director, every effort will be made to operate a first-rate aquatic program that will focus on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.

Qualifications

1.Associate’s degree in related field or equivalent preferred.

2.Two years related experience preferred.

4.Immediately upon hire : lifeguarding certification (ARC); American Red Cross First Aid & CPR for Professional Rescuer; AED Training

5.Within 6 months of hire : YMCA Swim Lesson (YSL), Lifeguard Instructor (LGI)

Essential Functions

1.Thinks, communicates and behaves as a cause-driven leader and role model for other staff and members when it comes to desired staff behaviors and healthy living practices.

2.Directs and supervises program activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives. Establishes new program activities and expands programs within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.

3.Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations and pool rental agreements.

4.Creates and schedules swim classes and ensures all programming is accurately entered into Daxko.

5.Models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions. Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in timely manner.

6.Actively teach or lifeguard 15 to 25 hours per week or as needed, as well as maintain 10 hours of aquatic administration hours.

Some evenings and weekends required.

7.Assist in in-service staff training regularly to ensure the highest standards of safety and Risk Management.

8.Make sure clear, concise and consistent information is communicated to members and staff using emails and / or social media.

9.Assist in any and all branch programs and activities at the request of the Aquatic Director.
