The McBurney YMCA is seeking an Executive Director, who will be responsible for the overall operations of the McBurney YMCA, which includes all community programing at the branch and its off-site locations. The incumbent will be responsible for continuing to develop and strengthen community relationships with donors and various service organizations. Also, the Executive Director would be expected to aggressively support the branch’s strategic goals.

- Bachelor’s degree required or relevant work experience.
- Seven (7) years of successful operational and management experience.
- Proven success record in fund raising.
- Budget management experience required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Solid computer skills.
- Proven ability to successfully manage and execute multiple priorities simultaneously.
- High emotional intelligence.
- Excellent hospitality and service skills.
- Direct and provide leadership to the Board of Managers, its committees and staff in interpreting policies, strategies, and plans. Serves as the staff officer to the Board of Managers and implements its plans, policies, and decisions.
- Develop and control the annual operating, government, and capital budget consistent with the guidelines set up by the YMCA of Greater NY.
- Acts as chief officer of the branch and is responsible for the recruitment, selection, development, training, supervision and evaluation of a highly competent staff.
- Create and maintain high quality programming and service that meets the current and future needs of the community with financial, human and capital resources available.
- Provide primary leadership in designing and directing all branch fundraising programs, including annual support, endowment and capital campaign.
- Develop and maintain partnerships in the community with business and civic leaders, government and other select organizations and agencies.
- Create and maintain long range plans for the branch involving Board members, committee members and community leaders.
- Manage the facilities and property of the branch and off-sites to ensure high standards of maintenance and cleanliness and requirements of codes and laws are met.
