We’re searching for an environmental steward who is passionate about leading a manufacturing environment to a greener future. As an Environmental Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in assessing and managing YTMV’s environmental impact, implementing sustainability initiatives, and ensuring compliance with local and federal regulations. You will take ownership of our environmental programs to ensure we are above standards, while seeking additional ways to minimize the company’s ecological footprint.

Ideal Qualities

To be considered for this role, here are the skills we are looking for:

· Enthusiasm for being on the forefront of green initiatives and training others on the subject

· A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or a related field

· Three to five years experience in an environmental-related role with comparable goals and responsibilities; manufacturing experience is a plus

· A proactive approach to tackling environmental concerns head-on

· The ability to effectively and professionally communicate information and strategies to a variety of end-users

· Organization is your love language so you naturally excel in reporting, recordkeeping, and follow-up

· You enjoy getting to the root of the problem and developing counter-measures for improvement

· Staying abreast of industry trends and advancements with the open-mindedness to adapt as necessary

· The terms EPCRA, SARA, TSCA, SWPPP, SPCC, ODCP, and EAP are already in your vocabulary

Job Responsibilities

As an Environmental Specialist, you will be a go-to resource for environmental regulations, YTMV’s environmental management system, and keeping the plant up-to-date on best practices. In doing so, you will be responsible for:

· Supporting the EHS Manager through environmental permitting, reporting, and correspondence with federal, state, and local agencies (i.e. Air Permit, Storm Water Permit, POTW Permit, etc.)

· Coordinating waste management activities with an extreme focus on zero-landfill disposal

· Being familiar with, and coordinating, ISO 14001 EMS activities including responding to non-conformances and managing documentation and follow-up

· Maintaining all environmental recordkeeping requirements for YTMV’s EMS, environmental permits, and KPIs

· Taking a deep dive into environmental data, analyzing, and interpreting it to prepare insightful reports and recommendations for continued improvement

· Conducting indoor and outdoor facility audits for environmental compliance and best practices relative to YTMV

· Learning YTMV’s Environmental Incident Management System and Internal Production System

· Staying up-to-date with environmental regulations, emerging trends, and advancements in environmental technologies to ensure YTMV stays ahead of the curve

· Providing technical and regulatory assistance for environmental issues as needed

· Providing guidance and training to employees on environmental best practices

· Maintaining written environmental programs such as SWPPP, SPCC, ODCP, and EAP’s

· Working collaboratively with employees, contractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies to address environmental concerns and foster positive change

· Seeking innovative opportunities for environmental and sustainability initiatives
