York Adult and Community Education is seeking a qualified Student Services Coordinator to
join our team. This person is responsible for working directly with the Adult Education Director in
planning, coordinating and assisting in all activities related to the adult education academic
programs, needs of academic students, and data reporting for grants. This position requires both
administrative and teaching responsibilities with very strong attention to detail.
Position Description:
The Adult Education Student Services Coordinator works with the adult education team to create
a welcoming environment for adult academic students to thrive. The ideal candidate is someone
who enjoys advising and helping adult students achieve their goals. Experience working with
adults, low income, at-risk individuals and in academic and career advising is preferred.
Knowledge of career pathways, college transitions and working with nontraditional students a
plus. Experience in standards-based curriculum development and instruction preferred. A high
level of oral and written communication skills is required for this position. We are looking for
someone who is extremely proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) for both PC and Apple OS
and has the ability to learn other program software quickly. The successful candidate will be very
organized and able to maintain accurate student records in writing, in the State mandated data
management system and in Excel. Ability to interpret data required. Effective communication with
adult education staff is necessary in order to ensure student success.
