What are the responsibilities and job description for the Human Resources Generalist position at Young & Well?
We need an experienced Maryland-based HR professional to join our team on a very part-time basis.
We’re a small company with 15 employees which means we aren’t big enough to need full HR but we’re big enough to need some help.
Here is a short list of basic tasks:
-- Communicating benefits, bonus structure, PTO, etc. to employees and answering questions about these things
-- Managing 401K and employee health benefit plans, including onboarding; approving payroll/bonuses (twice per month)
-- Ensuring our company is following all the federal employment laws and employment laws in Maryland and our strict county of Montgomery County, Maryland. We’d like someone local for this reason but this is a remote job 99.9% of the time
-- Refining and organizing company training and onboarding. This would be a very part-time hourly W2 position for likely no more than 5 to 10 hours per month.
We have a very empowering and positive culture as pediatric therapists, and we don’t have any nonsense when it comes to gossip/toxic workplace behavior. It will be important that we find an HR professional who also values this, and can reinforce it throughout the company through modeling our values, even if you’re only working a few hours per month.

Position would start ASAP as we prepare in August for our seasonal school year staff to return in September, or as needed by therapist. This is part-time with a few hours per month required but likely more hours in August to support our HR goals for our annual company retreat in September. Important Additional Things to Know:
-At least 3 references confirming experience and ability to work well independently with high regard will be required.
- At least 3 years of HR experience because we need someone with experience to lead our inexperienced leadership in HR.
- Computer proficiency: comfort and ease with technology (We use Google)
- A professional with the proven ability (through references) to establish communicative and effective relationships with team members
