Duration: 6-Month Remote Internship


Note: This is an unpaid internship position with the potential for future paid opportunities based on performance.


Are you passionate about book publishing and eager to gain hands-on experience in formatting and layout design? Do you have a keen eye for detail and an interest in working with both print and digital formats? We are looking for motivated interns to join our team as Book Formatting Interns, helping to prepare manuscripts for publication. This is a fantastic opportunity to work remotely and develop your skills while contributing to the world of publishing.


Responsibilities:


Format manuscripts for both print and eBook distribution.

Assist in ensuring consistency in style, layout, and design across various book projects.

Collaborate with editors and authors to ensure manuscripts meet publishing standards.

Handle the conversion of manuscripts into different digital formats (ePub, Mobi, PDF).

Assist in troubleshooting formatting issues across platforms like Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) and other print-on-demand services.

Provide feedback on the visual presentation of manuscripts, including font choice, spacing, and alignment.

Stay up-to-date with best practices and trends in book formatting and design.


Requirements:


Strong attention to detail and a passion for book design.

Familiarity with formatting software such as Microsoft Word, InDesign, or other layout tools.

Basic understanding of eBooks formats and digital publishing platforms (KDP, ePub, etc.).

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.
