Job Title: Program Manager
Background: The YWCA Berkeley/Oakland is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women*, developing leaders, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. The YWCA is a global movement working for the empowerment, leadership, and rights of women*, young women* and girls* in more than 100 countries. We are an independent, non-profit organization that provides programs, classes, workshops, and resources for the Berkeley and Oakland community. We also work closely with UCB students since we are located near the University of California, Berkeley campus. The YWCA Berkeley/Oakland has over a 125 year rich tradition of dedication to the empowerment of girls* and women*, to racial and social justice for ALL people. Job Definition: The Program Manager will work directly with and report to their supervising Program Director and Freda Statom-Greene, Executive Director to primarily spearhead the community relationships and manage the curriculum of the following YWCA Berkeley/Oakland community programs: Financial and Economic Empowerment, Digital Literacy, and Communications and Marketing; details on what each program entails will be discussed further during the interview process. Responsibilities also include assisting with organization wide programming and events.
Responsibilities:
I. Program Logistics and Implementation
1. Manages the following YWCA Berkeley/Oakland programs, as discussed further in the interview process:
Digital Literacy
Work with senior populations to provide foundational digital skills knowledge in an ever growing post COVID-19 digital access divide.
Financial and Economic Empowerment
Host community workshops and partner with community organizations to provide financial foundational basics to empower them to take a new and fresh financial path
Work with diverse populations ranging from teenagers, to survivors of domestic violence, single parents, immigrants, etc.
Communications and Marketing
Lead a team of interns to run and expand the YWCA Berkeley/Oakland social media platforms and communications.
2. As a full time staff member, you would be expected to assist and, occasionally lead, organization wide community events.
3. Collaborates with the Executive Director and their supervising Program Director for methods of program scaling and execution in order to best serve the community.
4. Leads and trains interns and volunteers in relevant programming, as necessary
5. Maintains relationships and communication with community stakeholders, student organizations and conference collaborators. Recruits, trains, and supervises interns and program members.
6. Develops curriculum, materials, and recruits speakers and presenters; collaborates, and provides input for Organization-wide events; maintains program records (contact sheets, status reports, evaluations, program data and statistical reports, etc.)
7. Have weekly check-ins with the corresponding Program Director to provide programming updates and receive feedback.
8. Implements and continues to improve upon program and performance feedback as provided by the overseeing Program Director.
II. Administration
Keeps track of and organizes program records
Assists with…
A. creating and sharing program marketing materials.
B. soliciting donations and sponsorship for programs/events.
C. partner relations.
III. Other
Works as a team with other staff, interns, and volunteers.

Qualifications:
At least 1-2 years of nonprofit or community organization experience
Not required, by highly recommended, to have at least one year of program managerial or development experience
Strong leadership skills, including excellent and clear communication with diverse groups. Specific experience in education, domestic violence, financial literacy, career counseling, racial justice, and/or bay area grassroot work is a plus.
Ability to be passionate, motivated, and creative when approaching programming growth and engagement.
Strong ability to take initiative to work both independently and as part of a team when needed.
Needs to prioritize and perform diverse tasks under pressure and meet deadlines.
Have knowledge of Google Suite, Microsoft, Zoom, and Canva. Knowledge of WordPress, Mailchimp, Asana, Adobe products, Google/social media analytics, or other digital platforms, a plus.
Enthusiasm and passion for the YWCA mission and its goals.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to adapt and be flexible in the midst of program transitions or obstacles.
Educational and program development experience and knowledge of culturally-relevant educational teaching techniques.
Have experience and/or social awareness in working with socioeconomically and racially diverse populations of all ages.

This is a fully in-person position at our Berkeley office. Hours of work will be between 9am-5pm on Mondays-Fridays, with very occasional evening and weekend work as needed in the case of organizational events.
