Job Description

Piper Life Sciences is actively seeking an Automation Controls Engineer to join a pharmaceutical manufacturing and chemical processing organization that develops innovative therapies and cutting-edge technologies for patients with severe and critical conditions in Raleigh, North Carolina (NC). The Automation Controls Engineer will get to take ownership of the implementation of control design and configuration of process control related projects to the site, while utilizing their expertise to help Delta-V. This is a Monday-Friday role, located on-site in an industrial environment, with traditional working hours.

Responsibilities of the Automation Controls Engineer - Delta-V include:
  • Be the SME expert for Delta-V
  • Rework the current system to make it more robust
  • Collaborate with team members regarding the improvement and transition of controls system throughout facilities.
  • Execute control design, configuration and startup of process control related projects for the site.
  • Troubleshoot the control system hardware and equipment issues all the way up to programming sequences.
  • Work cross functionally with project managers, engineering, etc. to ensure programs remain compliant.
  • Work hands-on with Delta-V


Qualifications for the Automation Controls Engineer - Delta-V include:
  • B.S. in an Engineering discipline, with 8-10 years of transferrable experience
  • 8 years of Experience with DeltaV
  • Automation/controls experience in an industrial environment or pharmaceutical environment
  • Ability to work partially in an office setting, and partially out in the plant when necessary


Compensation for the Automation Controls Engineer - Delta-V:
  • Compensation: $70-$85/hr
  • Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO, Holidays, Annual Bonus
