This includes the installation of space, power, 3rd party fiber ties, and other activities as needed to support network growth and customer equipment throughout Zayo’s network.

Position Description
This position is responsible for engineering and implementing inside plant construction activities using industry standards and best practices. This includes the installation of space, power, 3rd party fiber ties, and other activities as needed to support network growth and customer equipment throughout Zayo’s network.
Location: This role is remote and works on Midwest & Central Regions/USA projects (IL/MI/MN/WI).
Responsibilities
- Ownership and close knowledge of multiple orders (50 at a time) while driving on-time and quality driven installations.
- Design, coordinate, and implement space/power installation projects for Zayo network growth and customer orders.
- Maintain cost effective installation designs in support of capacity requirements that also adhere to industry standards.
- Ensure an accurate scope of work and/or close out package is created, reviewed, and uploaded prior to releasing to the assigned project manager for completion.
- Attending weekly sync calls with assigned project manager and leadership to review in-flight projects, and to update weekly reports that detail the status of those projects. Also, daily calls with internal/external partners are normal to manage critical path items that could jeopardize delivery timelines.
- Performing space/power capacity checks with cost estimates for pre-sales support.
- Establishing project timelines with your assigned project manager that are actively managed and communicated to internal/external stakeholders on a weekly basis.
- Review incoming order requests for completeness and accuracy.
- Working cross-functionally to drive delivery with assigned project manager as well as Zayo teams in: field operations, outside plant, fiber engineering, service delivery, real estate, circuit design, pre-sales support teams, external vendors, and occasionally with end customers directly.
- Engaging external installation contractors and equipment distributors to request quotes in support of installation projects.
- Tracking projects to ensure they adhere to installation standards, are on-time, and within the forecasted budget. Updates for each project to be provided on a weekly basis at minimum.
- Serving as a point of contact for your assigned area within Zayo’s network for responding to ISP related activities, and any related problem-solving needs.
- This position may require 10-20% travel.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of space, power, and fiber capacity builds.
- Communication skills are essential as this role demands constant interaction with the assigned project manager, ISP management, and internal/external partners.
- Ability to manage tight/aggressive timelines and schedules.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail are a must.

- Demonstrated investigational and problem solving skills.
- Proficient with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point, and Google Sheets.
- Minimum 5 years equivalent experience in central office installation - telecommunications industry.
- Understanding of ISP project dependencies as well as the ability to make effective decisions based on industry standards and best practices are essential.
- Familiar with facets of ISP order management including: quoting, installation, and delivery.
- Working knowledge of MetaSolv (M6), Visio, SalesForce, and SiteTracker.
- Business minded and able to maintain a commercial focus.
- Previous telecommunications installation experience is a huge plus.
