What are the responsibilities and job description for the Superintendent position at ZEMS Services?
National General Contracting firm seeking motivated Construction Superintendent to join our firm. Candidate should possess general knowledge of the construction industry and project phases along with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, have strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to efficiently prioritize duties. Experience in construction field (retail and restaurant projects) is required.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Provide overall leadership and supervision to all on site activities
- Manage day-to-day field operations of construction projects
- Must have a proven record of managing complex projects in occupied spaces
- Manage subcontractors effectively/efficiently
- Manage in-house employees (assistant superintendents, laborers, etc)
- Professional interaction with clients, architects, engineers, etc.
- Management of schedule, including weekly preparation of two-week look ahead schedules
- Coordination between trades and jurisdictions regarding inspections
- Ability to work with numerous contractors and sub-contractors in an efficient manner.
- Dimension/layout verification
- Daily focus on job site safety
- Maintenance of daily log
- Maintain job site and material security/perimeter
- Be capable of working in a team or autonomously as the size of future projects may dictate
- Be capable of managing/coordinating multiple quick-turn projects simultaneously
- Manage the closeout process with the project manager
- Coordinate site testing and inspection efforts
- Attend and participate in weekly meetings, including project and subcontractor meetings
Ideal candidate should possess:
- Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Suit programs (word, outlook, excel, etc.) is required
- Experience and proficiency with Procore is a plus
- Valid Driver’s License
- 5 years experience in the construction industry is required
- Ability to communicate professionally via emails and phone calls
- Demonstrate proficiency in reading commercial construction plans and specifications
- Experience working on smartphones and tablets
- Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously with detail orientation and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Occasional travel as required
- Ability to work with tools to perform various phases of construction work is a plus
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
