Zepf Center has been serving the Lucas County community for nearly 50 years. We are the leading provider of behavioral health and substance use disorder services in Northwest Ohio. Services include adult and child psychiatric, substance abuse, case management, residential, Crisis Care, and therapy programs, as well as career development and wellness services. Zepf Center also offers primary care medical services to our patients to contribute to their continuum of care. Zepf Center is a trauma-informed agency and environment for both patients and staff.


We are currently seeking a full-time Recovery Support Center and Peer Service Development Coordinator. The purpose of this position is to oversee the operation and management of the Recovery Support Center within the Recovery Supports department. This individual is responsible for providing direction and guidance to the development of Peer Services within the agency. This individual is responsible for ensuring effective client care. This individual will collaborate with other leadership and management staff in creating the vision, development, implementation, and evaluation of peer services.  


 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Provides programmatic direction to staff assigned to the department. Assures the organization’s administrative philosophy, mission, and vision is carried out.  
  • Will collaborate with other leadership and management staff to develop 5-year peer services, program development, billing, and funding sustainability plan. 
  • Will organize and chair a Peer Advisory Panel, seeking Peer input on events, program policy, services and to identify peer participant needs and preferences, within Zepf Centers overall policy and procedures.  
  • Provides peer supervision and administrative supervision to assigned staff in accordance with Zepf’s policies and procedures. 
  • Completes performance evaluations as required, providing feedback on performance.  Approves time sheets and time off requests. 
  • Recruits for staff vacancies in assigned positions.  Makes recommendations for personnel actions.  Assures all other positions including intermittent/contingency staff within the department follow the same process. 
  • Implements a well-defined staff development plan. 
  • Analyzes the data received to evaluate trends and assist staff make service adjustments as needed to assure outcomes are achieved within Recovery Support Center 
  • Participates in, and presents reports to community partners, Advisory board, funding agencies, elected officials and other interested parties. Explain trends and provides suggestions for improvement.  
  • Develops monitors and assures that the departmental goals and objectives are achieved.  Monitors utilization of programs and develops peer service strategies to assure optimal utilization.   
  • Assures utilization is consistent with staffing and budgets.  Recommends adjustments and approaches referral sources when indicated as actual projected utilization figures change. 
  • Works closely with executive and mid-level management staff to integrate peer services and recovery support services, into the care of Zepf Center clients when applicable to that client’s situation.  This includes attending team meetings, training staff on recovery supports and the value of peer services.  
  • Will collaborate with other leadership and management staff to provide vision and continuity of agency peer supervision and peer support driven functions. 
  • Will promote an environment conducive to agency peer integration and quality client care. 
  • Assist and involve other staff when appropriate in making decisions, ensuring quality client care through adherence to established policy and procedure, as well as the use of reasoned judgment.  
  • Prepare and complete any required reports, projects, etc. as assigned. 
  • Staff development, Peer Training, evaluation, and disciplinary action of assigned peers. 
  • Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures, taking positive corrective action as appropriate including notification with superiors. 
  • Responsible for marketing the program to the community in partnership with Marketing Department  
  • Collaborate with the Finance Department in budget development including oversight of new and existing funding streams (insurance, grants, contracts, etc.) 
  • Promote and maintain positive relationships withal referral agencies, as well as other social service agencies. 
  • Seeks out and promote partnership alliances with various funding sources in compliance with Zepf Center policy.  
  • May complete public relations and grant writing activities as necessary.  
  • Community advocate and involvement for client recovery needs and services  
  • Participate in assigned agency committee meetings.  
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure department success.  

 

Specific/Individual Competencies: 

  • Ability to oversee peer services goals in an integrated program and provide supervision to enhance implementation of Peer driven services. 
  • Ability to plan and implement services for efficient agency operation. 
  • Familiarities with the understanding of current peer service trends as they apply to service provision in the treatment setting. 
  • Ability to maintain all requirements for licensure/credential and renewals as appropriate. 
  • The ability to work with minimal supervision a must. 
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Understand and correspondence with the laws of confidentiality. 

Requirements

 

  • Must have lived experience of Mental Illness and/or substance use disorder.  
  • Must have a thorough understanding of Peer services. 
  • Must have three years of experience of supervising Peer Services  
  • Prefer bachelor’s degree; with minimum of 3 years management experience in administration and supervision.  
  • Knowledge of peer run services and business administration is of equal importance of treatment knowledge. 
  • Must have knowledge of OhioMHAS standards. 
  • Must have knowledge of CARF standards. 
  • Must have a good working knowledge of human services.  
  • Valid driver’s license and insurance. 
  • Special training or experience in alcoholism/drug addiction is necessary. 

 Those eligible to drive company vehicles must have a valid driver's license and be eligible for coverage as defined by the agency commercial insurance carrier.  Those who drive personal vehicles in the course of business must be able to provide proof of insurance.
