Responsibilities
- Projects could include but are not limited to policy deployment, organization and employee development, recruitment and selection, wage and salary management, employee grievances, orientation, training and development, employee records, employee relations, safety and health, benefits administration, communication, employee services, and monthly human resources reporting.
- Work with management and union leadership to ensure proper communication and adherence to policies.
- Develops, implements and coordinates policies and programs in designated areas of responsibility.
- Coach and counsel management of the organization on employee related situations and issues.
- Prepares budget of human resources operations. Prepares forecasts to project employment needs.
- Prepares reports such as employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations. Also prepares reports and recommends procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state laws
- Coordinates leadership training, any compliance training and training program for the entire Plant.
- Administers salary administration program to ensure compliance and equity within organization and determine competitive wage rate in local labor market.
- Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 annually; maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
- Administers benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurances, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance. Administers performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance and equity within organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (Master's degree preferred)
- 10 years of progressive HR experience.
- Environmental Health & Safety experience in organization for up to 2 years.
- Experience in human resources including employment, training, benefits, and wage and salary administration, communication and continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of manufacturing environment including flexible shift models.
