POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director of Operations-Las Vegas, the HR Generalist will oversee human resource responsibilities and activities for an expanding restaurant establishment. This position will be responsible for everyday HR operations with regard to recruiting, administrative, compliance training, regulatory compliance and payroll functions. This position will work closely with the Corporate Human Resources Department for day-to-day operations, and will take on more responsibilities as the business expands to other locations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Recruitment- Works closely with external Recruitment Processing Organization (RPO)/recruitment vendor in sourcing candidates for all open positions
- Full Cycle recruiting and onboarding of hourly and management staff for Las Vegas locations
- HR Administration
- Works closely with the Corporate Human Resources Department with day-to-day management of personnel, communications, and policy administration.
- Works closely and provides HR support with local Store Operations and Corporate Human Resources Department.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, and terminations.
- Conducts all internal investigations and seeks guidance from the Corporate Compliance Manager.
- Assist in administering performance evaluation.
- Compliance & Training
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, and continuing education.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance and positive labor relations.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Benefits.
- Assist in administering Company benefit and Wellness programs, including benefits program enrollment, changes, terminations, and COBRA.
- Payroll.
- Will work closely with Corporate Payroll with payroll processing of Las Vegas hourly and salaried employees; bonus/incentive pay, tracking vacation/PTO/sick pay.
- As new locations open, the individual may assume full-cycle payroll processing and related payroll procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Scheduling & Travel:
- Typically Monday – Friday
- Usual shift is 45 hours per week with occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
- Travel is primarily local travel during the business day, although some out-of-area/state may be expected.
- Remote work eligible.
Physical Ability:
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
- Occasional lifting of 20 – 30 pounds.
- Sitting most of the day.
- Standing/walking up to 3 to 4 hours a day.
- Reaching/bending frequently.
- Sight for performing computer work and paperwork

Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- At least three to five (3-5) years of human resources or related experience,
- One (1) year experience for payroll processing
- Thorough understanding of EEO, ADA, Nevada, local, and other related employment laws, regulations, and guidelines.
- Knowledgeable of Labor/Union Relations
- Excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, ethics, and cultural awareness
- Resourceful, problem-solving aptitude and thorough knowledge of HR procedures and policies
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office, HRIS systems (ADP Workforce Now), and comfortable learning new technical systems as needed
Desired Education and Experience:
- Restaurant experience, a plus
- Prior work/life experience in Hawaii a plus
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certified preferred.
- Supervisory experience, helpful
