Job Summary
The Business Sales Account Executive requires proven success in sales prospecting, recognizing business service opportunities, and turning leads into long-lasting, profitable partnerships. The Business Sales Account Executive (AE) will drive new business prospecting activity and utilize a consultative selling approach to recommend and maximize value-added services to meet the customer’s needs. Additionally, the Business Sales AE will cultivate relationships with existing clients to identify further revenue and retention opportunities. The service portfolio includes Fiber Internet, Mobile Phones, Hosted PBX, Transport, and Security. The Business Sales AE will work directly with a team including Engineering, Operations, and Sales Support, while being passionate about client relationships and expanding sales growth.
Essential Job Functions
- Establish a sales plan to prospect and expand the business customer base.
- Execute a strategic business plan to achieve monthly sales targets.
- Develop sales and aggressive prospecting strategies to consistently meet/exceed quota.
- Make cold calls and contact prospects to identify new business opportunities and sales leads.
- Network within the business community (Chambers of Commerce, EDC..) to identify prospects.
- Build strong client relationships, provide support and cross-sell existing customers.
- Follow up with prospects throughout the sales cycle to ensure needs are being met.
- Present and demonstrate the value of services to prospective customers.
- Stay current on service offerings, competition and industry trends to identify opportunities.
- Maintain a CRM sales funnel/database of contact information and lead statuses.
- Prepare and present monthly KPI reports.
- Build long-lasting, mutually beneficial relationships with customers.
- Support continuous improvement of the sales, implementation, and support process.
- Handle business customer complaints and negotiations.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Extensive and effective selling and communication skills.
- Ability to create and deliver sales presentations that create a “best fit” between the customer and our products/services.
- Services Knowledge – knowledgeable of company service offerings and industry trends.
- Experience selling VoIP/HPBX solutions a plus.
- Drive and energy to manage multiple accounts while seeking new opportunities.
- Flexible, Self-Driven, Results-Oriented.
- Ability to multi-task and set priorities.
- Ability to understand client needs and handle the negotiation process.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Computer skills, MS Office and CRM software.
Education and Experience
- Associate/Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field, preferred.
- 5 plus years of Sales experience in a service industry.
- Proven and demonstrated effectiveness in selling.
