Hands on vehicle expert for vehicle level testing.
Ensure that customer issues are identified, reported and resolved prior to product launch.
Duties consist of: root cause analysis, hands-on vehicle evaluations/diagnosis, application of diagnostic tools/equipment, collecting and analyzing data, reporting and documenting issues, presenting information both written and verbal, participating in/facilitating meetings, directing drivers, mechanics and technicians, along with competitive vehicle benchmarking.
Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To
Manages test activities from start to finish including the planning, setting up the test, scheduling workload, analyze the test data, and provide final reports to the customer.
This Test department is responsible for all types of testing including but not limited to brake development/certification, sound pass-by, fuel temperature profiling, dust intrusion, solar load, mud packing, water fording, and other tests related to the Arizona environment.
This position requires working with instrumentation as it relates to brake testing, weather monitoring, temperature, and other tests needs as they arise.
This includes managing equipment to ensure it is within calibration date and functioning.
Work with test drivers to flow down testing requirements to support the requested testing and assist with issues that may arise during the testing.
Requirements
A minimum of 3 years engineering experience.
Experience with vehicle testing.
General knowledge of vehicle systems and principles.
Knowledge of instrumentation and data acquisition systems helpful.
Experience with MS office products.
Will be required to drive a company vehicle - valid drivers license & clean driving record required.
May be required to travel - domestic (0-20%).
Preferred Requirements
Experience with braking systems and foundation brake components.
Experience with vehicle testing and data acquisition systems.
Experience with data analysis and presentation in written reports.
Experience in managing programs related to vehicle testing from start to completion.
Experience managing a small team to complete tasks in a timely manner.
Education
A minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
