Job Description
Basic responsibilities of the Construction Contract Manager include:
Reviewing, red-lining and negotiating Subcontracts and/or Purchase Orders to ensure the commercial terms and conditions are acceptable and scope of work is accurately reflected within contract documents
Provide red-lined recommendations and negotiate directly with customers, project managers, purchasing staff and attorneys until agreement has been reached.
Assisting with contract matters
Develop exceptional working relationships with customers and vendors
Interact with multiple facilities within the Central US Region, and availability to travel.
Qualifications for the position include:
- 2 years experience with reviewing and negotiating business contracts
- Bachelor's degree
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Through understanding of construction contracts
- Comfortable with both the numbers and language of contracts
- Experience in project management or estimating is a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of reinforcing steel terms, the construction industry, and its general practices
- Experience in negotiating from a downstream contracting process where Terms & Conditions are given to you
- Previous negotiation experience with key customers and corporate executives
- Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, and Bluebeam
- Previous experience with reviewing legal contract documents and negotiating mutually agreeable terms with customers
- JD, preferred, not required
- 2 years experience with reviewing and negotiating business contracts
