Job Overview
Monitors the servers and directs traffic, making sure that customers are served and tables cleared as quickly as possible, ultimately responsible for the quality of each diner's experience. Your job starts before customers arrive. You will monitor the servers to make sure they're meeting the restaurant's standards for service and professionalism, assign stations while taking care of your own station.
Understands appearance, attitude and actions play a large part in creating a pleasant atmosphere for you and your team. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to; Guest satisfaction, details of orders, retention of customers, recommendations, supporting the team as needed, communicating with the front and back of the house, maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the restaurant throughout your shift, knowing current promotions. Keeping your team on tasks and informed.

General Responsibilities
- Verify food preparation as needed before bringing to the table.
- Regularly perform, participate in, and support training and staff meetings
- Review menus, beverage lists, and food specials with other service staff to ensure the staff is properly prepared to attend to customers, review reservations for events.
- When a manager is not present or is busy with other tasks, the lead server is responsible for resolving customer complaints with the food or service. For food issues, the lead server makes sure an unhappy guest receives their meal properly prepared or modified to their satisfaction.
- Paying close attention to detail, such as placing orders exactly to customer specifications
- Follow company policies and procedures regarding the handling property, products, and equipment, make sure your team is doing the same.
- Key Communicator between the front and back of the house
- Clearly directs others with accurate and detailed information so everyone understands what needs to happen during your shift
- Assigns the servers' stations along with smart decision making on bringing servers on when busy and cutting staff when servers are not needed in a fair and responsible manner.
- Work closely with the management to ensure team member compliance with the Unit Policy Handbook and any additional regulations or procedures.
- Plan, train, and develop team on a continual basis.
- Collaborate with other leaders on identifying and building emerging leaders.
- Audits inventory levels to ensure product availability
- Greet the customer immediately
- Offer menu recommendations upon request along with informing customer of the daily specials
- Up-sell additional products when appropriate
- Explain how various menu items are prepared, describing ingredients and cooking methods
- Write accurate food and drink orders, using POS ordering software, order slips, or by memorization
- Check customers' ID to ensure they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages with a valid ID
- Cleaning the bar, tables, chairs, and work area to maintain a sanitary environment
- Organizing the bar area to streamline drink preparation and inventory
- Placing orders for liquor, beer, wine, and other supplies
- Slicing, pitting, and preparing fruit garnishes for drinks
- Limiting customer problems by restricting alcohol intake and attempting to curtail inappropriate behavior
- Communicate order details to the kitchen staff, Serve food and drink orders promptly
- Deliver checks and collect bills for payments
- Follow all health department regulation
- Perform prep work at the beginning and at the end of your shift
- Roll silverware, set up food stations, set up dining areas to prepare for the next shift & large parties
- Handle customers' questions and concerns professionally and courteously ensuring guest satisfaction, report these issues to your supervisor in private
- Be flexible with your schedule, supporting the needs of the restaurant
- Regularly perform, participate in, and support training and staff meetings
- Look well-groomed and neatly dressed consistently
- Listening carefully to determine the desires of the customer
- Interacting sufficiently with customers to build goodwill and attend to their needs, but also being sensitive about giving people their space.
Job Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Have enthusiasm and possess excellent customer service skills, team player a must
- Communication and listening skills as well as basic computer knowledge, POS software
- 2 years' experience preferred in a lead position
- Willingness to work weekends, evenings and holidays as required
- Ability to lift 25 lbs., occasionally more
- Comfort with noisy, high-volume atmosphere
- Capable of working well under pressure, directing staff, communicating with staff & management
- Bartending experience is a huge plus!!
