OBJECTIVE
We have an opportunity for a Dishwasher. The ideal candidate must be a self-motivated individual with the ability to function in a fast-paced environment. The Dishwasher will be responsible for clean-up during and following all events and classes held in the Cooking Studio and must be customer focused and excel in a team oriented work environment.
Our ideal candidate will be responsible to maintain the cleanliness of all working stations in the Cooking Studio as well as all kitchen work areas and kitchen equipment.
Responsibilities and Duties
The Dishwasher will report to the Resident Chef and Culinary Program Manager and/or Chef Instructors and will have additional responsibilities including:
- Washing dishes, glassware, flatware, pots and pans using dishwashers or by hand.
- Placing clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in appropriate storage areas.
- Maintaining all kitchen work areas, equipment or utensils in a clean and orderly condition.
- Setting up tables and work stations as advised by culinary staff.
- Sweeping and/or scrubbing counters, floors & cupboards following every event/class.
- Cleaning garbage cans with water or steam.
- Sorting and removing trash, placing it in designated pickup areas.
- Transferring supplies or equipment between storage and work areas.
- Receiving and storing supplies.
- Assisting with loading and/or unloading trucks that deliver or pick up food and supplies.
- Assisting Chef Instructors and Kitchen Assistants in the preparation and set up of all cooking classes and events.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by Resident Chef.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of 1 year dishwashing experience preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year kitchen experience preferred.
- Must have high-energy and be a self-starter.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for 2-3 hours at a time.
- Ability to reach, push, grab, pull, bend, stoop, kneel, etc. in order to retrieve and/or replenish merchandise or handle cooking equipment.
- Ability to move and/or lift merchandise and/or kitchen equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Must work well in fast-paced environments and be able to contribute to building a best-in-class culture of customer responsiveness, constant improvement and teamwork.
- High level of commitment and responsibility.
- Superior organizational skills with ability to manage and execute multiple tasks with accuracy.
- Close attention to detail.
