Abolt Construction, Inc., based in Fort Madison, Iowa, is a contractor with focus on industrial and commercial contracting with over 35 years of service to the Southeast Iowa and Western Illinois communities. In 1974, after 15 years as a bricklayer, Stan Abolt founded the Company as a masonry construction company; in 1978 we added concrete work. Stan helped the company build a reputation for quality work; repeat business from industrial customers helped our growth. In 2000, Craig Abolt purchased the Company from his father. Craig had been employed in St. Louis as a structural engineer for a consulting engineering firm; a natural growth was to add structural design service to the company's offerings. His vision for the company is to build upon our strengths and expand into larger commercial and industrial jobs. Craig has a day-to-day, hands-on approach with all of our projects. Our unique experience is evident in all of our projects which include consulting, industrial expansion projects, commercial expansions, parking structures, parking lots, refractory inspection and repair, masonry, acid brick, floor brick, and historic restoration. Under Craig's leadership, the Company now performs masonry, concrete, structural steel, carpentry, industrial coatings, and trucking. It is our feeling that in recent years basic business ethics and morality have been replaced by single-minded quest for corporate profits. We are definitely in business to be profitable, however, not to the point that we compromise our personal ethics and honor. We believe that by offering our clients a quality service, for an honest fee and a modest profit, we will insure our longevity as a company.
