Acadia Benefits provides health and wellness resources and support to our customers. We keep abreast of carrier wellness programs, as well as programs and resources offered by national and local wellness organizations and providers. We offer resources on complete integrated wellness program implementation and maintenance, as well as wellness initiatives for employers who are not ready for a formal program. We have worked with several of our healthcare customers to develop incentive-based standalone or carrier integrated wellness programs to encourage healthy behavior. Our model involves lowering payroll deductions for employees who engage in healthy behaviors. A typical program requires members to: complete a Health Risk Appraisal, visit their Primary Care Physician for a routine physical, participate in a disease management program if identified with a chronic condition, and to be tobacco free. We have worked with several of our customers to organize Employee Health Fairs for relatively low cost. We have provided those customers with an extensive list of important resources for the fairs, including: local grocery/health food stores, tobacco cessation resources, and more. In addition, we work with our customers and their medical and dental insurance carriers to make sure that our customers are utilizing all available carrier wellness resources, including health risk appraisals and member savings on eyewear, gym memberships, and health products. Acadia Benefits is a current member of the Southern Maine Wellness Council, Healthy People of the Kennebec Valley, the Wellness Council of Maine, and the Wellness Council of America. Those memberships allow us to stay current of tools available to Maine employers with regards to wellness initiatives.
