Alpha Omega Church was founded in September of 1985. The first reunion was held underneath a tent at the Tamiami Park in which 20 people assisted. Within the next 5 years our church continued to grow, and in 92 we moved to a 6 acre lot on the corner of Miller Drive and 78 avenue, here we constructed our first chapel, which is now our main temple where over 5000 people attend Sunday service. Additionally we count on our children learning center, a biblical institute, a library, a coffee shop and a radio and television recording studio. Our wish as a church is to save souls, restore families, prosperous men and women who are fulfilling the purpose of God in their life. With more than 33 years in our ministry, tons of members and thousands of lives saved, without a doubt we can say that we are a church of miracles.

The term is considered[by whom?] inclusive of distinctly non-religious forms of support as well as of those from religious communities. Humanist groups, which act on behalf of non-religious people, have developed pastoral care offerings in response to growing demand for the provision of like-minded support from populations undergoing rapid secularisation, such as the UK. Humanists UK for example manages the Non-Religious Pastoral Support Network, a network of trained and accredited volunteers who operate throughout prisons, hospitals, and universities in the UK. The terms pastoral care and pastoral support are preferred because these sound less religious than terms such as chaplaincy. Surveys have shown that more than two thirds of patients support non-religious pastoral care being available in British institutions. Similar offerings are available from humanist groups around Europe and North America.
