Americhem Sales Corporation is located in Mason, MI seven miles directly south of Lansing and is home for 25 team members. ruce L. Whetter purchased the assets of the old Americhem Corporation 20 acre site in 1998 and renamed the company Americhem Sales Corporation. Whetter entered into a Covenant Not To Sue (CNTS) with the State of Michigan and the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) prior to purchasing the assets of the old company that had been in operation since 1970.Americhem Sales Corporation immediately began GOING GREEN in 1998 working jointly with the MDEQ on a comprehensive long term clean up of the contaminated site. The old solvents tank farm was removed, underground storage tanks (USTs) were removed and the beginning of a new company was under way. A new state-of-the-art solvents 500,000 gallon tank farm was built, a new under roof/heated and secure 500,000 gallon oils tank farm was constructed and a totally enclosed, with full containment, secure scale house with two (2) 200,000 pound state certified scales all were designed and built working with the MDEQ on the engineering for the new construction.Americhem Sales Corporation has become a leader in responsible chemical distribution as evidenced by receiving the NACDS FIRST ANNUAL RESPONSIBLE DISTRIBUTION EXCELLENCE AWARD in 2006.
