Anna University is a state technical university in Tamil Nadu, India. The main campus is in Guindy, Chennai and the satellite campus is in Chromepet, Chennai. It was established on 4 September 1978. The Madras Institute of Technology campus is located in Chromepet. Anna University was founded on September 4, 1978, and was named after Tamil Nadu's former Chief Minister Dr C.N. Annadurai. It is located in the southern part of Chennai and has three additional regional campuses in Madurai, Tirunelveli and Coimbatore.
