B&B Lumber Co was founded in 1976 when brothers Harold and Tom Baalmann purchased Melcher Lumber in southwest Wichita. The name was quickly changed to B&B Lumber, and the product lines expanded to include pole barn supplies, windows, exterior doors, treated lumber, and cedar lumber. Word got out, and B&B Lumber started to outgrow its facilities. Buildings and showrooms were added at the Wichita, KS location, and a second location was established in Newton, KS. Kitchen cabinets, pre-hung doors, hardwood moldings, and farm and ranch supplies have been added over the years to make B&B Lumber a full line building materials supplier for professional builders, remodeling contractors, ranchers, and homeowners.
