The Joint Bellerose Business District Development Corporation (JBBDDC) was founded in 1995 as a not for profit local development corporation by local merchants, residents and civic organizations from the Queens and Nassau sections of Bellerose. The organizations mission is to improve and increase business activity along Jamaica Avenue, Jericho Turnpike and portions of Braddock Avenue (between Jamaica Avenue and Gettysburg Street), and to enhance the quality of life and shopping opportunities for Bellerose residents. JBBDDCs formation represents the first-ever, joint effort of the three communities that make up Bellerose to work toward the common goal of strengthening and improving the Bellerose communitys central business district.
