About Us: We are an educational, fundraising, public charity that was started with the purpose of teaching others about thermography and providing women, who would not otherwise have it, the opportunity and funds for certified breast exams with Thermography. Background: Each year over 250,000 women in the United States are diagnosed with breast cancer and over 48,000 die from the disease. The American Cancer Society and medical researchsupports the idea that early detection can provide a significantly greater opportunity to treat and defeat cancer. A majority of insurance companies do not provide mammograms for women under the age of 50, but nearly half of deaths from breast cancer occur in women who are under the age of 50.Thermography: Approved by the FDA in 1982, thermography is a safe, non-invasive preventative tool, which can be used as an early warning system for breast cancer. When combined with mammograms, the chances of early detection increase to 95%. Thermography also provides an opportunity for younger women to assess their risk and make appropriate lifestyle changes to remain healthy and/or decrease their risk.Proceeds: As a sponsor and supporter of Beyond Pink, you are helping women in this community fight against breast cancer. 100% of net proceeds raised from the event goes directly to providing life-saving Thermography testing to women right here in our area.Donations: Each grant covers the cost of the initial thermogram, that display heat differencesand hormone levels in the breast tissue, a Mamma Care clinical breast exam, along with an interpretation of the results and a follow up visit with one of our providing physicians.
