Blake & Uhlig, P.A. was founded in 1972 when John J. Blake and Robert L. Uhlig formed a partnership to represent labor unions and their affiliated trust funds. John and Bob set a high standard of representation that the current lawyers at our firm strive to maintain. John and Bob felt that the attorneys at Blake & Uhlig should be part of the labor movement as well as advocates for unions and working people. Although our primary client base rests in a four-state area (Missouri, Kansas, Iowa and Nebraska), our practice is national in scope. Our attorneys come from varied backgrounds, including service with the NLRB, federal and state judges, and civil practice. Our attorneys have worked as union organizers, business representatives, and in union represented jobs. A number of our employee benefit attorneys have advanced tax degrees to better enable them to navigate the complex world of ERISA.
