Brooke Army Medical Center is a teaching hospital located at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas. The hospital offers over 450 beds and medical services that include surgical care, pediatric and adult care, and a 24-hour emergency department. BAMC is the only Level 1 trauma center in MEDCOM. In 2005, Brooke Army Medical Center joined with Wilford Medical Center to become the San Antonio Military Medical Center. Housing near Brooke Army Medical Center is coordinated through the in-processing center located in Building 367 at the Fort Sam Houston Housing office. All soldiers must fill out a housing application and then secure temporary housing at nearby hotels prior to being placed.
