Job Type Full-time Description The Accounting Clerk position is responsible for supporting the Accounting Team by organizing, preparing, and maintaining data for a variety of department needs. The clerk supports AP/AR transactions and plays a role in preparing for month end close. This position is expected to be able to maintain a high level of efficiency, accuracy, and confidentiality in everything that they do. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Compiles and sorts documents, such as invoices and checks, substantiating business transactions. Verifies and posts details of business transactions, such as funds received and disbursed, and totals accounts to ledgers or computer spreadsheets and databases. Audits invoices against purchase orders, researches discrepancies, and approves payment. Investigates problems that vendors or purchasing agents have with obtaining payment for bills. Computes and records charges, refunds, and cost of lost or damaged goods, freight charges, rentals, and similar items.
