Delta Trading LP's Management team has accrued over 165 years of experience in transloading. Mike Purdy is General Manager and is responsible for all market development. Mike Purdy began with Mohawk & Getty refining in the supply department. In 1981 he was hired to work for Koch Industries as a lease level supply acquisitions representative. By the time Koch was acquired in the late 1990's Mike had advanced to Manager of planning and development of facilities and supply covering three blending facilities, 300 miles of pipeline, gas and liquids processing plant, and 35,000 barrels of blended crude oil. Mike became the west coast manager for Equiva of the Alliance between Shell and Texaco that later was acquired solely by Shell. Mike's lease group there doubled the volume of lease gathered oil three years later. Mike is a graduate of Oregon State University with a BS and with an MBA from California State University Bakersfield. Steve Navarre is the Paloma Site operations manager. Steve Navarre brings 23 years of experience from oilfield operations covering all phases of heavy equipment operations, rail road movements, hazardous materials handling, welding, electrical, and field management issues. Steve began his career in 1981 with BJ Services and has worked for Western Asphalt, Quinton Electric, Nova Construction, and Sierra Organics. Archie Smith is the owner/operator of Nova Materials and the Senior Engineering Consultant for all the Delta Trading activities. Archie Smith began in 1958 with the Ethyl Corporation as a process and product economics engineer assisting petroleum refiners in optimizing their operating and blending economics. He joined Toscopetro (which became Tosco) in Bakersfield, Ca in 1973 starting as their manager of economics and planning. As a Tosco Corporation Vice President he coordinated the merger of Tosco with Phillips Petroleum's West Coast refining, terminaling and marketing in 1975. He then joined Mohawk Petroleum in 1976.
