The primary responsibility is to support the finance department, manage accounts receivable, and produce financial documents for the organization. RESPONSIBILITIES: Understand, adhere to, and apply generally accepted accounting principles. Process payments and documents such as invoices, employee reimbursements, and financial statements. Track expenses and evaluating budgets. Post financial data to accounts. As appropriate, coordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software system, and recommends updates to enhance that system. Create Excel spreadsheets with the appropriate formulas. Proficient in MS Office Suite and QuickBooks. Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual audits. Handle communication between the organization and clients. Due to a special project, they are hiring an Accountant to work in their office in Baltimore, MD The Accountant position is a grant funded contractual role and will last until the end of December 2025 (~9 month contract) Schedule: Flexible hours between 7:30am-4:30pm, 7.5 hour work day, M-F in Baltimore city.
